World-Class Contractor

The global market is the ultimate challenge for the corporation aspiring for success. EEI has distinguished itself in its mastery of world-class construction management and competencies that have been honed in the global marketplace.

EEI Corporation is the Philippines’ foremost and most reliable name in international contracting.

It has been a player in the foreign market since 1974 when it first ventured into the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Since then, the Company has won major contracts in a wide range of large-scale industrial projects including petroleum refineries,
power plants and major industrial installations in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iraq, Algeria, Libya, Brunei, Malaysia and, recently, New Caledonia in the Pacific.

In Saudi Arabia, EEI has undertaken numerous oil and gas refinery projects, gas oil separators, desalination terminals and tank farms for Saudi Aramco. In 1983, EEI was awarded a US$186 million subcontract work to build the Mina Abdullah Refinery in Kuwait, with manpower deployed reaching the peak of 8,500 personnel and more than 30 million man-hours in the four-year project.

EEI was the first Philippine contractor in Kuwait performing fire fighting and reconstruction works for Kuwait Oil Company with global engineering company Bechtel after the Gulf War in 1991. The Company was able to deploy, on short notice, a Filipino contingent of over 5,000 workers.

The Company maintains local presence in certain foreign markets by establishing business alliances with domestic partners. In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, EEI has forged a joint venture corporation, Al-Rushaid Construction Company, Ltd. (ARCC), which has implemented its numerous projects over a span of more than 30 years. It also has a joint venture partnership, EEI-BVI Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates.

The Company also formed a new corporation based in the South Pacific island state of New Caledonia. The subsidiary, EEI Nouvelle Caledonie, is constructing the Inco Goro nickel mining plant. Modular plant assemblies are likewise being fabricated in the EEI Fabrication Shop in Batangas and shipped to the mining site in New Caledonia.

EEI’s global and market-driven mindset has provided the impetus to achieve international competitiveness that is recognized by global engineering and construction players. The Company’s strategic goal is to continue striving for world best practices and to compete in global market.
