The success of a project depends to a great extent on the effectiveness of the mobilization program. In a manpower supply contract, a properly planned and implemented mobilization program is essential in meeting the project schedule.

We are cognizant of the constraints that are inherent to the project. Our programs are designed to accomplish all manpower related tasks in an effective and efficient manner. Key elements of the program are:

Manpower Reserve Pool
We maintain a data bank on (1) Project workers who have been temporarily laid off due to project completion, (2) Project workers who have worked with us before in some of our projects, and (3) Workers whose papers have been processed and have undergone initial trade testing. This system enable us to hire and process new workers on short notices as we do away with the initial recruitment steps.

Our company boasts of a manpower pooling system which at present contains more than 6,000 personnel of varied skills and trades. This pooling system was devised in preparation for incoming project of both EEI and our company's other clients. For more than a decade, the pool has been a major aid to the company in terms of reduced time for mobilization. Management of the pool is under the responsibility of the Data Processing Section.

Nationwide Recruitment
We maintain a nationwide recruitment network situated in key cities all over the Philippines. Each center is manned by competent personnel and tasked to perform varied activities from manpower sourcing up to readiness for dispatch level of every worker required in our overseas projects.

Our Recruitment Offices handle recruitment of Engineers, Professional, Staff, Technical and Skilled manpower. Its operation is regionalized to achieve a nationwide coverage of manpower sources. Recruitment activities are concentrated on three major qualifications; (1) Current Recruitment Load, (2) Reserve Pool Load and (3) Special Projects Requirement.

Upgrading Training Courses
The shortages which are mostly in critical sills can be sourced out by conducting upgrading training courses. In coordination with EEI, GAIC can request training courses using the former's capabilities on Welding Technology, Process Control Instrumentation, Fitting Trades, Mechanical Maintenance, Electrical Maintenance, Non-destructive Testing, and Jigs and Fixtures.

It is the policy of GAIC that preference for candidates on overseas projects be made on the basis of having been thoroughly trained followed by proven job performance.

Applicants who pass the aptitude, psychological, trade test and medical examinations are required to submit the following documents for processing:

After successful processing of employment and travel documents, the workers are thoroughly briefed on their work and country assignments. At the time of workers' departure, the GAIC Liaison officers transport and assist them at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
