Presidential Award of Excellence

 Last April 21, 2010, (then still the) President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo conferred a Presidential Award of Excellence  on EEI Corporation and twelve other agencies in a ceremony at the Malacañang Ceremonial Hall as part of the  2009 Agency Performance Awards of the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA). The POEA also  honored the Top Performers and Awardees of Excellence in a separate ceremony last April 29 at the Philippine  International Convention Center.

 EEI Corporation was one of only four agencies from the land-based sector that received the award. SVP  Ferdinand G. Villafuerte attended both ceremonies and received the award in behalf of EEI. The Presidential  Awards of Excellence, created by virtue of Proclamation No. 1519 signed in May 2008 were given for the first  time since the grant of agency performance awards in 1984 and are conferred on agencies in recognition of their  consistent excellent performance in providing decent and gainful employment to overseas Filipino workers. These  were granted to agencies for having been recipients of Awards of Excellence for at least five times and among  the selected awardees for the same category during the evaluation period from 2005 to 2009.

 POEA Administrator Jennifer Jardin-Manalili said that the presidential awardees are considered the cream of the  crop in the recruitment industry since they comprise only one percent of the 1,336 licensed agencies as of March  2010.
