For the last 18 years, through research and by speaking with fund managers and analysts from all over the region, Asiamoney has been awarding the "Asia's Best Managed Corporate of the Year Award" to Small-Cap, Medium-Cap, and Large-Cap Companies in selected countries in Asia that prove to be successful in their category.

EEI Corporation's proactive stand in spite of the financial crisis that hit the Philippine economy in 2009 was one of the bases for Asiamoney to name EEI Corporation as the best managed small-cap company in the Philippines.

EEI's eagerness to grow and its aggressiveness to expand outside the country are what led to a successful year for the company. Despite the economic downturns of the year, the diversified revenue of the company was achieved by its ability to capitalize on the opportunities abroad, especially in the Middle East and in the oil and gas sector rather than in the weaker property industry and thus make up for the weakness in the local market.
